European Mobility Week activities held in Rethymno and Volos

The European Mobility Week was observed in various Greek cities, focusing on themes of sustainable urban planning, road safety, and intergenerational justice.

In Rethymno, the event concluded with a roadshow titled ‘Show Me the Way’ at the House of Culture. The program included panels on ‘Smart Cities – The Cities of Tomorrow’ and ‘Road Safety Today,’ featuring discussions on urban design and the consequences of traffic accidents. Educational activities, including virtual reality simulations and interactive games, were held at Mikrasiotton Square to promote safe movement practices among citizens.

In Volos, activities included a cycling tour for all ages starting from the University of Thessaly and cycling skill demonstrations for students. However, the scheduled cycling event, which was linked to the European Car-Free Day, was postponed from September 27 to October 4 due to weather conditions.
