European museums to host major fashion and art exhibitions in 2026

Major European museums are hosting significant fashion-focused exhibitions in late 2026, highlighting the intersection of art, heritage, and design.

In Milan, Palazzo Reale will host a retrospective on Salvador Dalí and his relationship with fashion. The exhibition features over 200 works, including conceptual clothing, jewelry, and accessories that explore the surrealist connection between the subconscious and style. This event is set to influence the Spring/Summer 2027 collections for Milan Fashion Week.

In Paris, the Galerie du 19M, in collaboration with Chanel, will present ‘Métamorphoses, The Hats of Maison Michel’ starting September 23, 2026. The exhibition celebrates the French millinery house by showcasing historical and contemporary hat creations made from materials such as linden wood, felt, and fine ribbons. Other notable fashion exhibitions scheduled for the period include works by Viktor&Rolf.
