European night train travel sees steady growth

Travelers across Europe are increasingly rediscovering the benefits of night train travel, which allows for seamless connections between distant cities. According to a study by the digital travel platform Omio, night train bookings have seen a steady year-on-year increase of 8%. Specifically, Nightjet bookings have risen by 15%, while EuroNight trips have seen a 26% surge.

The most sought-after night train corridors are concentrated around major hubs such as Berlin, Amsterdam, Prague, Paris, and Sint-Gillis. Popular routes identified by user searches include Berlin to Prague, Amsterdam to Berlin, Amsterdam to Sint-Gillis, Berlin to Paris, and Amsterdam to Antwerp.

Beyond these mainstream routes, travelers are also exploring less predictable connections, such as the 10-hour journey between Sofia, Bulgaria, and Istanbul, Turkey, via the Sofia-Istanbul Express.
