European Parliament delegation to observe Serbian elections

A delegation of seven Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) will visit Serbia from October 22 to October 26 to observe the parliamentary elections scheduled for October 25. The delegation will act as part of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) election observation mission.

The mission aims to assess whether the elections are conducted in accordance with Serbian national laws and international standards. During the visit, the delegation will meet with political party representatives, government officials, media outlets, electoral bodies, and civil society members.

Following the elections, ODIHR and the heads of the European Parliament, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly, and Council of Europe Parliamentary Assembly delegations will issue a joint statement regarding their preliminary findings and conclusions. The EP delegation is led by Austrian MEP Andreas Schider and includes representatives from five countries and six different political groups.
