A delegation of six members from the European Parliament’s Committee on Regional Development is conducting a visit to the Italian regions of Puglia and Basilicata from October 26 to 28. The mission aims to evaluate the outcomes of cohesion policy and discuss priorities for the 2021–2027 programming period.
The delegation will examine strategies for addressing territorial inequalities and supporting green and digital transitions. Key stops include meetings with the Alto Salento Local Action Group in Ostuni, discussions with regional representatives in Brindisi, and visits to marine conservation initiatives in Taranto.
In Basilicata, the group will meet with officials in Matera to discuss the role of cultural heritage and urban regeneration in local development.
