European Parliament hosts event on female leadership and gender equality

As part of the European Gender Equality Week 2026, the European Parliament organized an event titled “Building equality, fostering leadership – From rules to change in companies and institutions.” The initiative focused on the role of women in the economy, business, and decision-making processes.

Speakers included European Parliament Vice President Antonella Sberna and Lazio Region Vice President Roberta Angelilli. The program featured a presentation by Rosita Ponticello, coordinator of the Equal Opportunities Department of Unioncamere, regarding a study on how European equality legislation impacts corporate culture.

The event brought together representatives from various sectors, including Confindustria, Confcommercio, and various women's associations, to discuss transforming gender equality from a regulatory requirement into a strategic driver for economic growth and institutional quality.
