European Parliament projections show rise in far-right influence

An analysis by the Europe Elects project suggests a significant shift in the power distribution of the European Parliament if elections were held today. The projections indicate that the far-right, including the Europe of Sovereign Nations faction, would see the largest growth, gaining approximately 22 seats.

Other groups expected to gain seats include the radical left, with an increase of 19 seats, and the Patriots, who could gain 13 seats. Conversely, traditional political forces are projected to face substantial losses: Social Democrats could lose 18 seats, Christian Democrats 17, and liberals 10. The Greens are also projected to gain 14 seats.

Branislav Ondruš, an independent Member of the European Parliament, noted that these projections reflect growing public dissatisfaction with current Brussels-led policies and serve as a warning regarding the direction of European politics.
