European Parliament urges reforms in Kosovo and Bosnia amid EU integration push

The European Parliament adopted a resolution on Kosovo with a 174‑58 vote, urging the country to accelerate reforms, support its application for EU candidate status and ensure accountability for the 2023 Banjska terrorist attack. The text warns that continued political deadlock could jeopardise EU financial assistance and delay Kosovo’s progress on the EU Reform Agenda and accession questionnaire.

A separate resolution on Bosnia and Herzegovina called on domestic leaders to end political blockades, appoint a chief negotiator for EU accession talks and respect the constitutional order. MEPs stressed the need for rule‑of‑law reforms, anti‑corruption measures and cooperation with the EU Growth Plan, warning that failure to act will hinder Bosnia’s EU membership prospects.
