European partnerships and the Weimar Triangle mark major anniversaries

The Neufahrn–Gardolo Partnership Association celebrated its 30th anniversary, marking three decades of cross-border friendship between Germany and Italy. Founded on July 23, 1996, the association was established by approximately 40 citizens to actively support a town twinning relationship that had existed since 1983. The anniversary festivities included a formal event in the St. Franziskus parish hall, attended by representatives from the city of Trento, Gardolo, and local German officials.

Separately, the Europa-Union Schwalm-Eder commemorated the 35th anniversary of the Weimar Triangle. Established on August 29, 1991, through an agreement between the foreign ministers of Germany, France, and Poland, the forum facilitates cooperation on European and international political issues. Beyond high-level diplomacy, the initiative emphasizes cultural and civil society exchanges, including youth programs and local town twinning partnerships such as those between Willingshausen and Cléon d’Andran, and Jesberg and Wysocka.
