European People’s Party seeks to suspend asylum rights during hybrid attacks
The European People’s Party (EPP) is set to advocate for the suspension of asylum rights within the European Union in response to what it terms “hybrid attacks.” These attacks are defined as instances where third countries facilitate large-scale migration to destabilize European borders.
The proposed resolution, expected to be adopted at a political assembly in Toulouse, calls for an additional protocol allowing for the refusal of entry or the return of illegal migrants without individual asylum assessments.
