European Printing Summit addresses packaging and inkjet innovation
The European Printing Summit held in Dortmund brought together approximately 300 industry professionals to discuss the evolving landscape of packaging and label production. The event addressed critical industry challenges, including the integration of AI in order processing, web-to-print models, and the use of recyclable materials.
During the summit, Engineered Printing Solutions (EPS) announced plans to demonstrate its new XD-AQ high-viscosity water-based inkjet system at PACK EXPO. This technology is designed to print high-quality CMYK graphics directly onto porous substrates such as cartonboard, corrugated packaging, and molded-fiber products. Unlike conventional systems, the XD-AQ allows for decoration after packaging has been die-cut, folded, or glued, potentially streamlining production workflows. The system utilizes PFAS-free inks that meet various international packaging and manufacturing standards.
