European research advances circular construction in wood building and shipyard redevelopment

A 2026 master thesis from the University of Graz in Austria examined circular construction in wood building. The study evaluated four structural systems using the BNB Circularity Index, finding high circularity scores for foundation plates (94.3) and timber wall panels (88.2) while floor slabs and flat roofs scored much lower due to cement screed and full-surface bonding.
