European Social Fund backs food aid in Romania’s Fantana Mare and home care for seniors in Moldova’s Fărcașa

The European Social Fund (ESF) co‑finances a project in the Romanian commune of Fantana Mare to provide basic food items and hot meals to disadvantaged residents. The programme, managed by the Ministry of Investments and European Projects, also offers hygiene education, access to medical services, legal counselling and support for professional insertion.

In the Moldovan commune of Fărcașa, a separate ESF‑plus project funds home‑care services for 106 vulnerable seniors over a 41‑month period. The initiative aims to improve quality of life, reduce institutionalisation, and combat social isolation through home visits, workshops, excursions and information sessions. The total budget for the Moldovan project is 4,975,049 lei.
