European Solidarity Meeting supports Nicaragua and global peace

Participants of the 11th European Meeting of Solidarity with the Sandinista Popular Revolution met in Brescia, Italy, to issue a joint declaration. The group, comprising organizations and individuals from various European regions including Spain, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, France, Italy, and Belgium, honored the late internationalist Dino Verderio.

The declaration supports Nicaragua’s call for global peace, poverty eradication, and a multipolar international order, as presented by Foreign Minister Valdrack Jaentschke at the 81st UN General Assembly. The participants expressed recognition of the BRICS nations as a means of strengthening the Global South and fostering more equitable international relations.

Additionally, the meeting expressed solidarity with the Palestinian people, condemning the destruction in Gaza and demanding humanitarian aid. The group also congratulated Nicaragua on its legal action at the International Court of Justice against Germany regarding alleged complicity in Gaza. The declaration further voiced support for the sovereignty of Iran and condemned U.S. actions regarding Venezuela.
