European sunscreen market sees price cuts and new lightweight formats
Nivea Sun has reduced the price of its 200 ml SPF 50+ spray to €7.97, a 47 % discount, positioning the product as an affordable, high‑protection option for families ahead of the summer holidays. The spray features Citracell‑Protect technology with vitamin C and hyaluronic acid for added hydration.
Lancaster, celebrating 80 years in sun care, introduced a line of ultra‑light sunscreen formats for daily urban use, including the Invisible Fluid SPF 50 ( €45), a refillable spray and a stick for targeted areas. Other brands are following the trend toward convenient, multi‑tasking products: Shiseido embeds SPF in its foundations, Dr Barbara Sturm offers a serum‑like Sun Drops SPF 50, and Ilia launches a mineral sun serum with broad‑spectrum protection. These developments reflect a shift from traditional tube sunscreens to agile, hydrating formulations that cater to consumer demand for everyday UV defense.
