European Sustainable Development Week focuses on sustainable food
The European Sustainable Development Week (SEDD) is taking place from September 18 to October 8. This annual event involves various actors across Europe, including local authorities, businesses, schools, and associations, to promote the 17 Sustainable Development Goals of the 2030 Agenda.
This year’s theme focuses on sustainable food, defined as nutrition that is environmentally respectful, economically fair for producers, socially accessible, and health-promoting. The initiative aims to address challenges such as food waste and the rising cost of healthy food, which remains a barrier for many households according to United Nations reports.
