Lebrun brothers defend European table tennis doubles title

French brothers Alexis and Félix Lebrun successfully defended their European Men’s Doubles title at the 2026 European Table Tennis Championships in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In a dramatic five-set final held at Arena Stožice, the Lebrun brothers defeated the Swedish pair Kristian Karlsson and Anton Källberg with a score of 3-2 (5-11, 11-5, 11-8, 7-11, 11-8).

The victory makes the Lebrun brothers only the second pair in history to successfully defend the Men’s Doubles crown, joining the German duo of Timo Boll and Christian Süss. While the Swedes took an early lead in the first set, the French pair rallied to secure the championship.

Individual performances varied throughout the tournament. Alexis Lebrun reached the singles semifinals but was eliminated in the quarterfinals by Germany’s Qiu Dang. In the mixed doubles category, Stina Källberg and Kristian Karlsson secured a bronze medal for Sweden. Additionally, Norwegian player Borgar Haug reached the singles quarterfinals after a notable run before being eliminated by Anton Källberg.
