European tech startups and Spanish sectors secure significant funding

European technology startups and sectors saw significant capital inflows during recent funding periods. The Exploration Company secured $450 million in a Series C round, marking the largest Series C to date for a European space firm, with funds directed toward its reusable Nyx space capsule.

In Germany, Munich-based energy software startup Furo raised €4 million to expand its battery storage control platform. Additionally, legal AI startup Grubel secured €3 million in pre-seed funding to develop specialized AI systems for individual legal cases.

In Spain, tech companies raised approximately €1.7 billion in the first half of 2026. Spacetech emerged as the leading sector with €354.3 million, followed by travel, healthcare, and artificial intelligence. The travel sector saw a major boost from Perk, which secured a $300 million private credit facility for its AI-driven business travel management platform.
