European theme parks announce major expansions and new locations

O’Fun Park in Vendée, France, has announced significant expansions to celebrate its 25th anniversary in 2027. The operator, O’Parks, is investing approximately six million euros into new attractions in partnership with Zamperla. Key additions include the ‘Mine Discovery’ family roller coaster, which will feature a 155-meter track and a top speed of 26 km/h, scheduled to open in May 2027. Additionally, three themed Wild West attractions are expected to debut in April 2027.

In Germany, Karls Erlebnis-Dorf has expanded to Oberhausen, marking its first location in a major city and its first in North Rhine-Westphalia. Located near the Westfield Centro, the site distinguishes itself from previous rural locations by offering a ‘Curryversum’ themed area dedicated to the Ruhr region's culinary culture. The park saw approximately 12,000 visitors on its opening day in July 2026.
