Albania tourism hits 7 million visitors in seven months

Albania is experiencing a significant surge in tourism, with over 7 million foreign visitors recorded in the first seven months of the year, marking a 6.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Data from the Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) shows that July alone saw nearly 2 million arrivals. While European travelers remain the primary demographic, there is notable growth from markets in America and East Asia.

Specific interest is rising from Switzerland, where the number of visitors to Albania has nearly doubled over the last five years, supported by increased direct flight connections between Zurich, Geneva, and Tirana.

Beyond coastal destinations, mountain tourism is emerging as a key trend due to heatwaves in other parts of Europe. The Bjeshkët e Nemuna mountain range has been highlighted by travel experts as a premier destination for summer escapes, offering hiking and nature exploration as an alternative to traditional seaside holidays.
