NATO allies to hold major military drills in Poland for Ukraine security

At least 1,500 military personnel from the United Kingdom, France, and Germany are scheduled to participate in a major military exercise in Poland this November. The drills, organized under the framework of the ‘Coalition of the Willing,’ are designed to rehearse post-war peacekeeping, troop deployment, and logistical coordination in the event of a ceasefire in the conflict between Russia and Ukraine.

UK Defence Secretary Wes Streeting announced the participation during a visit to Washington, emphasizing that the exercises will prepare allies to provide security guarantees and support post-war reconstruction in Ukraine. The maneuvers will specifically simulate the rapid movement of multinational forces and the delivery of essential supplies, including food and fuel.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk has expressed support for the initiative, noting the importance of British and French involvement in strengthening regional security. While the exercises focus on preparedness for a potential post-conflict scenario, they also serve as a deterrent against further Russian aggression. The planned maneuvers highlight strategic efforts by European powers to ensure stability in Eastern Europe following any potential cessation of hostilities.
