European Under‑14 Fencing Festival in Cividale del Friuli Highlights Italian Successes

The European Fencing Confederation held its Under‑14 Festival on 26–27 June in Cividale del Friuli, Friuli‑Venezia Giulia. The two‑day competition featured 381 young athletes from 24 countries, including 72 representing Italy, across foil, épée and sabre for both genders.

Italian fencers performed strongly: Evan Felici of Club Scherma Jesi won the men’s foil title, while Arianna Pasqualini of Circolo Scherma Terni secured a fifth‑place finish in the women’s foil after advancing to the quarter‑finals. Other Italian athletes also placed respectably, such as Jacopo Belfiore (9th men’s foil) and Virginia Martini (21st women’s épée). The results were praised by regional fencing officials as evidence of the region’s growing talent and competitive standards.
