European Union AI Act enters critical transparency phase
The European Union's AI Act has entered a critical phase as Article 50 becomes applicable, mandating strict transparency obligations for companies using AI to interact with people or generate content, including deepfakes and text.
A report by The Adecco Group highlights a significant gap between corporate AI ambitions and leadership readiness. While 45% of executives plan to integrate AI agents into workflows within a year, only 22% believe their organizations possess the necessary digital capabilities, and only 31% feel leadership has sufficient knowledge to manage AI risks and opportunities.
In Italy, the implementation faces challenges regarding human capital and legal strategy. A recent incident involving the Polizia Postale's LinkedIn account, which used Microsoft Copilot to draft a post about WhatsApp scams, has raised questions regarding compliance. However, under Article 50, labeling may not be mandatory if human revision is involved in the final published text.
