European Union expresses readiness for dialogue with new Israeli government
The European Union has expressed its readiness to engage in a “sincere and open” dialogue with the next government following the Israeli parliamentary elections. EU spokesperson Anouar El Anouni stated that the Union looks forward to cooperating based on a longstanding relationship, shared democratic principles, and common values.
As of the latest election results, no parliamentary majority has emerged. Benjamin Netanyahu’s bloc holds 53 seats, while Benny Gantz’s bloc holds 48 seats, both falling short of the 61 seats required to form a government. The results also showed a significant rise in Arab-led parties, which collectively secured 19 seats.
