European Union funds equipment delivery for Acre producers

In the Vale do Juruá region of Acre, Brazil, rural producers and cooperatives in Cruzeiro do Sul, Mâncio Lima, and Rodrigues Alves have received equipment to strengthen cocoa and cassava production chains. The initiative is part of the “Productive Recovery of Resilient Landscapes in the State of Acre” project, which is funded by the European Union.

Executed by the Institute of Environmental Research of the Amazon (IPAM) in partnership with the Acre State Government and other agencies, the project benefits approximately 200 producers. Delivered items include refrigerators, sealers, ovens, and tables intended for food production and storage.

The project aims to support family farming and promote sustainable production near conservation areas like the Serra do Divisor National Park. Beyond equipment distribution, the initiative includes technical assistance and the productive restoration of irregularly deforested areas using native species and economic plants.
