European Union hosts Connecting Europe Days 2026 in Brussels

The Connecting Europe Days 2026 conference concluded in Brussels, bringing together over 4,500 participants, including politicians, financial institutions, and transport industry representatives. The event was opened by the Commissioner for Sustainable Transport and Tourism, Apostolos Tzitzikostas, with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen serving as the keynote speaker.

The biennial conference focused on developing a competitive, resilient, secure, and sustainable European transport sector. Discussions centered on creating a European transport network free of gaps and bottlenecks to facilitate the free movement of people and goods. Participants also examined specific initiatives to improve EU connectivity and addressed the funding requirements for essential infrastructure both currently and in the future.
