EU ice cream production rises to 3.44 billion liters in 2025

According to Eurostat data, ice cream production in the European Union rose by 1.9% in 2025, reaching a total of 3.44 billion liters compared to 3.38 billion liters in 2024.

Germany remains the EU’s largest producer with 608 million liters. Other major producers include Italy (549 million liters), France (525 million liters), Spain (457 million liters), and Belgium (274 million liters). All five leading nations saw production increases, with Italy recording the highest growth at 10%.

In terms of international trade, EU countries exported 289.8 million kilograms of ice cream to non-EU markets, a 10% increase from the previous year. Imports from outside the EU rose by 12% to 77.8 million kilograms. France leads the EU in exports, accounting for 20% of the total volume sent to non-EU countries, followed by Italy at 19%.
