Global factors are increasingly threatening stability, including climate change-induced droughts and floods, fertilizer shortages, and armed conflicts. For example, agricultural exports from Ukraine have seen a significant decline, dropping from 5 million tons per month to just 1.5 million tons in August. Additionally, low water levels in the Danube have restricted its use as an alternative grain transport corridor. These developments highlight the growing vulnerability of food and water supplies to geopolitical and environmental shocks.
