European Union proposes ‘EU Inc.’ to simplify cross-border business

The European Commission is working toward a legislative proposal known as the ‘28th regime,’ which aims to simplify business operations across the European Union. The initiative seeks to introduce ‘EU Inc.’ as a common corporate framework that would complement the existing 27 national legal systems.

Under this proposal, entrepreneurs could potentially establish an EU Inc. entity online within 48 hours for a cost of up to 100 euros. This unified structure is designed to allow startups and scaleups to operate across all member states under the same rules, reducing the administrative and financial burdens typically associated with expanding into new national markets. The goal is to foster growth within the single market by providing a streamlined option for companies targeting international customers, employees, and investors from the outset. The Commission aims to reach an agreement on the regulation by the end of the year.
