European Union publishes standards for Digital Product Passport
European standardization organizations CEN, CENELEC, and ETSI have published several new standards in the Official Journal of the European Union to support the implementation of the Digital Product Passport (DPP).
These standards aim to provide a uniform execution and standardized procedures for the DPP. The published standards include:
• DIN EN 18216: Protocols for data exchange, covering secure and efficient data formats. • DIN EN 18219: Unique identifiers for products, economic operators, and facilities. • DIN EN 18220: Requirements for data carriers used within the DPP system. • DIN EN 18221: Requirements for decentralized data storage, archiving, and data persistence.
