European Union scheduled clock change for October 2026
In 2026, Greece and other European Union member states are scheduled to transition from summer time to winter time on Sunday, October 25. At 04:00, clocks will be set back one hour to 03:00, effectively extending the night by one hour.
While most digital devices like smartphones and computers update automatically, analog clocks and non-synchronized devices require manual adjustment.
Despite a 2018 proposal by the European Commission to abolish seasonal time changes, the practice continues. Any decision to end the biannual clock change requires a special majority agreement from both the European Parliament and the Council.
