European Union to host Eurovenezolano Jazz Festival in Caracas and La Guaira

The European Union in Venezuela has announced the fourth edition of the Eurovenezolano Jazz Festival, scheduled to run from September 14 to October 4. The event will take place in Caracas and, for the first time, in La Guaira, a region heavily impacted by recent earthquakes.

Pierre-Henri Helleputte, the EU Chargé d'Affaires in Venezuela, stated that the festival aims to proceed despite logistical challenges caused by recent seismic activity. The program includes masterclasses and seven major concerts, with three offering free admission and four at reduced prices. Additionally, the festival will introduce “jamming” sessions—informal jazz improvisation events—at four locations in Caracas.

Charity components are central to this edition. A concert in Caracas on September 26 will collect school supplies for earthquake victims, while a concert in La Guaira on October 2 will benefit the National System of Youth and Children's Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela. The festival organizers have also committed to a minimal environmental impact by eliminating single-use plastics and installing recycling stations.
