European Week of Sport returns with nationwide activities in Italy

The European Week of Sport (EWOS) is returning, with the 2026 edition featuring the theme '#BeActive Your Way. No pressure, no judgement.' Originally launched by the European Commission in 2015, the initiative aims to promote physical and mental wellbeing, inclusion, and community belonging through sports activities across the European Union.

In Italy, the program is coordinated by the Department for Sport of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and implemented by Sport e Salute S.p.A. The campaign will include thousands of sporting events nationwide. Notably, the Serie C football league will support the initiative during its seventh matchday on September 26 and 27, using stadium displays and digital content to engage fans.

The primary national event is scheduled to take place in Naples at the Villa Comunale from September 25 to 27. This multi-sport village will offer free access to various disciplines. Local organizations, such as the Panathlon Club Molfetta, are also participating in the regional rollout of these initiatives.
