Eurostar faces delays and cancellations across Europe
Eurostar is facing ongoing service disruptions across its European network, including train cancellations and delays affecting passengers in Belgium, France, and Germany. On September 19, five specific trains were cancelled due to operational restrictions.
In Belgium, traffic difficulties on the rail network and heavy congestion at Brussels-Midi/Zuid have caused delays. In France, operational restrictions at Paris Gare du Nord are impacting schedules. German services are experiencing delays stemming from both general operational restrictions and a fire near railway tracks.
These recent incidents follow a summer characterized by persistent disruptions. Since May, the network has dealt with various issues including heatwaves, technical problems, and infrastructure damage, such as a cable fire near Rotterdam. Despite these challenges, the company reported a 3% increase in passenger volume in its recent annual results.
