Eurostar integrates official app into ChatGPT for rail bookings

Eurostar has launched its official app as a plugin within ChatGPT, making it the first railway company to offer this service in the Netherlands, Belgium, and the United Kingdom. The integration allows travelers to use text or voice commands to search for real-time train schedules, travel times, availability, and ticket prices across the Eurostar network, which includes destinations in France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Germany, and the UK.

While users can research trips and view connections to cities such as Paris, London, Brussels, Cologne, and Lille directly through the AI chatbot, the final transaction must be completed on the Eurostar website. The chatbot redirects users to a shopping cart on Eurostar.com with their selected journey already prepared.

Eurostar reports a significant increase in traffic from AI platforms, noting that visits to its website via AI services increased fivefold between early 2025 and mid-2026. To support long-term growth, the company has also ordered 50 new double-decker trains from Alstom, expected to enter service by the spring of 2031.
