Preparations for the 2027 Eurovision Song Contest are underway, with significant developments in Estonia and France.
In Estonia, ERR has announced that 155 songs were submitted for the Eesti Laul 2027 national selection. Of these submissions, 60 are in Estonian and 95 are in foreign languages. The final competition will feature twelve songs, with the winner to be determined through a two-round process involving both jury and televoting. The final is scheduled for January 30 at the Unibet Arena in Tallinn.
In France, singer Ycare has expressed interest in representing the country at the 2027 contest in Burgas. Ycare, who has previously written songs for Céline Dion, stated in a radio interview that he has written a new song intended to promote peace. He plans to perform a mix of French and English. While France Télévisions has not yet officially confirmed its participation for 2027, Ycare has indicated he is prepared to meet with Eurovision officials to discuss his entry.
