Eurovision 2027: Luxembourg and Canada announce selection updates

Luxembourgish broadcaster RTL has announced the 12 artists advancing to the next phase of the Luxembourg Song Contest 2027. The selection process, which serves as the path to Eurovision 2027, features a new structure where artists and songs are evaluated through separate tracks. The shortlisted artists include Carmen Luisa, Hugo One, Jaya KIM, Layso, and others, who were selected based on vocal ability, artistic identity, and stage presence.

The next phase is scheduled for November, focusing on a collaborative creative process to match artists with suitable songs. The final selection will take place on January 30, 2027.

In Canada, CBC/Radio Canada has set the announcement time for its national selection participants. The reveal will occur on October 27 at 12 pm PT, 3 pm ET, and 8 pm CEST. This marks Canada's debut in the Eurovision Song Contest, the first new participant since Australia joined in 2015. The selection will be determined by a combination of public votes and an industry jury, with the final decision leading to Canada's first-ever performance on the Eurovision stage.
