Eurovision Song Contest 2026 draws 131 million viewers across 35 markets
The 70th Eurovision Song Contest was staged in Vienna, Austria, reaching an audience of 131 million people across 35 television markets. The Grand Final recorded an average viewing share of 42.6%, more than twice the average of the broadcast channels, with youth (15‑24) sharing 54.8%, four times the normal rate. Record shares were achieved in Finland (92.8%), Sweden (85.5%), Norway (83.4%) and Denmark (79%). Host country Austria posted its highest ever Eurovision performance with 4.4 million viewers, an average of 1.6 million for the final and a 61.4% share. Bulgaria’s entry “Bangaranga” by Dara won the competition. Digital engagement was strong: YouTube’s live stream attracted 5.43 million unique viewers and a peak of 1.4 million concurrent watchers; TikTok surpassed 4 million followers and logged 872 million views; Instagram hit one billion views; Facebook delivered 247.8 million views. Overall, official content on TikTok, Instagram, Facebook and YouTube generated about 2.75 billion views and 39.3 million interactions during the event week.
