Eurowings launches competition to name aircraft after kind individuals
Eurowings, a German low-cost airline and part of the Lufthansa Group, has launched a competition titled ‘Name a Plane’. The initiative invites European residents to nominate individuals who demonstrate kindness, practical support, or positive influence in their daily lives.
Four winners will have their first names displayed on Airbus A320 aircraft operated by the airline. Unlike typical promotions focusing on celebrities, this campaign seeks to honor everyday people for their often unobserved contributions to family, friends, or volunteer communities.
Eligible participants must be adults living in Europe. Nominations require a short story of 250 to 400 characters explaining why the nominee deserves recognition. The submission period runs until 11 October 2026, with the winners expected to be announced in December 2026.
