Eusebio Ayala investigation continues after fatal shooting of two women

Investigations continue in Eusebio Ayala following the fatal shooting of 28-year-old Rebeca Martínez Aricaye and the critical injury of 32-year-old Carolina Aguilar. The victims were reportedly attacked on a local road, forced into a white Toyota Fortuner, and abandoned at a cemetery after being shot.

Javier Guanes, the ex-boyfriend of Martínez Aricaye, provided a statement regarding their last encounter at a post-jineteada party. Guanes claimed they had ended their relationship on good terms and that he had avoided contact with her since. He described a brief, unintentional physical contact with a man near Martínez Aricaye while navigating a crowded area, but denied any involvement in the crime.

Another witness, Juan Manuel Durañona Peralta, voluntarily came forward to assist authorities. Durañona stated he was present at the event and acknowledged greeting a man known as “Polaco,” who is currently the primary suspect with an active arrest warrant. Durañona noted that “Polaco” arrived in a grey Kia Sportage but claimed he did not see the white Toyota Fortuner involved in the attack.
