Euskadi, Navarra, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine launch joint innovation observatory

Euskadi, Navarra, and Nouvelle-Aquitaine have launched the Innovation and Business Sustainability Observatory (OISE) to create a harmonized database for measuring innovation, digitalization, and sustainability. Led by the Basque Government with an investment of 1.3 million euros, the project aims to allow for direct comparison between companies and territories across the Euroregion using shared indicators and methodologies.

The observatory will develop a business maturity index and provide data to help administrations refine industrial and employment policies, while assisting SMEs in identifying growth opportunities and cross-border cooperation trends. This initiative addresses the lack of shared statistical tools despite the high volume of commercial exchanges between the three regions.

In related industrial support news, the Fast Track Innobideak 2026 program has distributed 19.14 million euros in subsidies to promote innovation in the Basque industry. The program aims to mobilize over 47.8 million euros in business investment, focusing on improvements in products, processes, and business models.
