Euskaltel-Euskadi pursues UCI points in Algeria

The Euskaltel-Euskadi cycling team is utilizing races in Algeria to secure critical UCI points in an effort to finish the season among the top 30 teams. This ranking is essential for the team to pursue an invitation to the Vuelta a España.

Following a strong performance by Xabier Berasategi at the Tour de Vendée, the team has seen further success at the Grand Prix El Djazaïr. Danny van der Tuuk secured first place and Iker Mintegi took second place during the opening day of the event. These results bolster the team's campaign as they attempt to close the point gap with competitors like MBH and Bardiani.

The decision to compete in Algeria was an improvised strategic move to find available points to support a future project centered around leader Mikel Landa.
