EV-GP a. s. begins construction of new plant in Lučenec

Construction has officially commenced for a new manufacturing plant by EV-GP a. s. in the Juh industrial park in Lučenec, Slovakia. The facility will focus on the development, production, and assembly of modern battery storage systems, electric vehicle charging stations, and wind turbines.

Construction is scheduled to run from November 2026 through November 2028, with production expected to launch in December 2028. The project is anticipated to create approximately 30 new jobs for local residents and may provide additional employment opportunities in related sectors.

The investment follows several years of negotiations and administrative processes after the city council approved the lease of the land in July 2023. Despite previous doubts regarding the project's feasibility and various administrative delays, Mayor Alexandra Pivková noted that the commencement represents a significant step toward bringing new investment and opportunities to the city.
