EVA Bridge initiative launched to improve post-infarction patient care
The EVA Bridge initiative, launched by the laboratory Daiichi Sankyo, aims to improve care coordination for patients with atherosclerotic vascular disease following a heart attack. The program focuses on the critical transition period after hospital discharge, when patients must manage lifestyle changes, pharmacological treatments, and risk factor monitoring.
By encouraging cardiologists, family doctors, and nurses to share information and clinical criteria, the initiative seeks to prevent patients from being underserved after leaving the hospital and ensures continuous follow-up for over a year. The model was developed using the experience of the Hospital Universitario de Bellvitge and involves eight reference hospitals across Spain, including the Hospital Universitario de Cruces in the Basque Country.
