Eva Burešová transitions to metal music as Saija

Czech singer Eva Burešová, performing under the name Saija, has transitioned into the metal and alternative rock genres. This musical shift is marked by her new single ‘Mlč’, a collaboration with producer and musician Filip Vlček.

Burešová has been training in extreme vocal techniques to safely incorporate elements such as rasp and screams into her performances without damaging her vocal cords. She noted that heavy music provides a sense of calm for her, a connection she relates to discussions regarding how intense music can affect individuals with ADHD.

The single ‘Mlč’ explores themes of social media frustration and struggle. The accompanying music video, directed by Ondřej Urbanec, was filmed at locations including Lesní mlýn and Vila Lil in Mariánské Lázně. Burešová is currently preparing for an album release expected in the spring of next year.
