Eva Carneiro criticizes Mourinho and Terry over Netflix documentary

Former Chelsea team doctor Eva Carneiro has criticized Jose Mourinho and John Terry following their comments in a new Netflix documentary regarding a controversial 2015 incident.

The dispute stems from a match against Swansea City in August 2015, when Carneiro and head physiotherapist Jon Fearn entered the pitch to treat Eden Hazard. This decision left Chelsea with only nine players on the field after Thibaut Courtois had already been sent off. Mourinho subsequently labeled the medical staff as ‘impulsive and naive’ for not understanding the game's context.

In the documentary, Mourinho claimed he knew Hazard was not truly injured, while John Terry suggested an unwritten rule existed where medical staff should only intervene in ‘very, very grave’ situations. Carneiro responded via social media, stating that the documentary was ‘reliving the worst’ and remarked that it would be ‘healthy’ for Terry to learn the medical-legal rules of conduct.

Following the 2015 incident, Carneiro left Chelsea and pursued a legal claim for constructive dismissal, which was later settled at an employment tribunal.
