Eva Henger reflects on her mother’s struggle with schizophrenia

Actress Eva Henger appeared on the program ‘La volta buona’ to reflect on her relationship with her late mother, who passed away three years ago from pancreatic cancer.

Henger shared that her mother was diagnosed with paranoid schizophrenia when Henger was nine years old. The actress noted that the diagnosis provided clarity regarding her mother’s behavior during a difficult childhood. She described having to take on a maternal role at a young age to care for her mother, noting that while the experience was challenging, it was also meaningful.

Henger recalled a specific instance where her mother disappeared for three days, highlighting the complexities of managing the illness. She expressed a deep longing to spend even a single day with her mother again.
