München Mord series undergoes cast changes following Alexander Held's death

The ZDF crime series ‘München Mord’ is undergoing significant cast changes following the death of actor Alexander Held on May 12, 2026.

One of the final episodes featuring Held, titled ‘Die Stadt, die es nicht gibt’, is scheduled to air on August 22 at 20:15 on ZDF, while his final appearance, ‘Das Recht auf Glück’, is already available via the ZDF streaming portal. The latter episode deals with the death of a judge and features the introduction of Eva Karl Faltermeier, a Bavarian cabaret artist, as the new Chief Inspector Linda Hösl.

Faltermeier joins the series to replace Christoph Süß, who departed the role of Kriminaloberrat Helmut Zangel after twelve years for personal reasons. Hösl is expected to eventually succeed Held’s character in the investigative team.
