Eva López launches Castelldefels mayoral bid as Andorra advances housing law

In Spain, Eva López has officially presented her candidacy for the mayoralty of Castelldefels representing the PSC. Her campaign, centered on the slogan “The Castelldefels of the future and for the future,” focuses on three main pillars: creating a livable city, generating economic opportunities, and providing social care. Key priorities include increasing affordable housing, improving public services, enhancing mobility, and strengthening social policies.

In Andorra, Housing Minister Conxita Marsol reports that her proposed law to promote affordable rental housing has maintained the support of the parishes (comuns) for two months. Despite the minister presenting the detailed project in July and receiving positive initial feedback, she noted a lack of further amendments or improvement proposals from the local councils. Marsol expressed that while the project aims to deploy quickly, she observed certain political motivations in recent reactions to the law's public announcement.
