Eva Nemčovská elected as first female mayor of Trnava

Eva Nemčovská has been elected as the first female mayor of Trnava following the municipal elections held on October 24, 2026. Running as an independent, the current vice-mayor secured a significant mandate, receiving approximately 60.47 percent of the vote.

Nemčovská succeeds Peter Bročka, who led the city for 12 years and did not seek re-election. She defeated runner-up Branislav Baroš in a contest that was expected to be close. Having served as a city council member since 2018 and as vice-mayor since 2019, Nemčovská aims to provide continuity while introducing new priorities, such as improved communication between the city hall and residents and the completion of ongoing urban projects.

Voter turnout for the election in Trnava was reported at 41.96 percent.
